3 cream puffs and a rivalry game plus conference games are what most college football teams have historically scheduled. You can't blame Clemson for having a terrible ACC this year. Pac12 & Big12 are in the same boat. It just means you can't lose any games if you want into the playoff. However, LSU, Oregon, UGA, ND, Tx, Auburn, and every other team that scheduled a real non-conf opponent have bought some collateral to offset any potential losses. Two different strategies I guess.
