Last week, ESPN Staff Writer Edward Aschoff unveiled his list of top 2017 freshman summer arrivals to watch in the SEC West and he picked incoming quarterback Myles Brennan for the Tigers.

Here is what he had to say about Brennan and LSU's passing game.
quote:

LSU QB Myles Brennan:

Ed Orgeron has said the quarterback position isn't set. Danny Etling spent his time with the first-string offense this spring, but was competing with Lowell Narcisse. Now, Brennan, who might fit Matt Canada's offense the best, will push both. Brennan was one of the top pro-style passers in the 2017 class, and he will get every chance to win the starting spot. This passing game needs a big boost, so the more competition, the better.
Myles, a 6-3, 180-pound prospect from Bay Saint Louis, MS was rated the No. 5 pro-style passer in the country for the class of 2017, according to ESPN and 247Sports.

I'm not saying Brennan can't be great, but anyone thinking he will come here in June and beat out any of the QBs already on the roster by the start of this season, is full of shit, including this writer. Maybe next year, but not this year.

I guess I can see it, but I feel like there's a bigger chance he has no impact at all next year. Chaisson should've been the player to watch.

My guess is Chaisson starts off hot, maybe picks up 3-4 sacks, but when he gets to SEC play, he'll slow down a bit. Your guess is as good as mine though...
