After each week's completion, ESPN College Football analyst Cole Cubelic shares his "Sunday SEC takeaways."

Here's what he had to say about LSU and Auburn after the Tigers' 38-17 win on Saturday.
quote:

LSU: Nice conference win on the road. Good plan on defense. Run stunts landed be gap & zone. 1 a terror off the edge, speed rush, speed to power, inside move. He won often. Set the edge as well. 29 great pass rush reps. Good job forcing false reads on edge vs zone reads. 6 active off the ball CBs contested balls, prevented catches. 5 was great in coverage. Tackled well, limited explosives. 99 good penetration inside. Did not give QB time to set up. QB made great throws. Very few bad decisions. He was comfortable, took what defense gave him, check downs & free grass. Patient to leave pocket. C adjusted well in run game. 7 good with insets & blocking in run game. RPOs affective. OTs lost inside in pass pro a few times. 3 had good run after catch. 4 nice contested balls. Got 13 going a little, physical, great cuts north/south. Zone runs solid. Made defenders miss. Used movement well to set plays up. Nice job with formations to find yards with matchups. Impressive win for a group that seems to be tending up.

AUBURN: Tough to watch. OL dominated. Couldn't hold up. All the tackles struggled in pass pro. Hat placement not where it needed to be in run game. Not in sync in zone scheme. Had some quick game working early. Moved pocket. DL movement hurt run game, too many whiffs. TEs helped. Not enough YAC. Drops. Missed shot plays. Tough to stack players with lack of success early. QB run game not the same. Scrambles helped. Couldn't make contested plays. LBs a bit over aggressive. Games got them too far out of gaps, too far lateral down LOS. DL wasn't always square vs run. Coverage felt like it could've tightened as game went on. 16 physical. 94 played with tremendous effort, made things happen. 11 had good pass rush reps. Did not tackle well in space. Yards after catch were an issue esp with space given. Got QB off his spot but couldn't get him to ground. 1 sack on 46 attempts. Lost TE in coverage. RPOs had success.

I guess he's taking notes live while it's happening...but that means I gotta sit here with the roster to understand who in the hell he's talking about.

I enjoy his perspective. Love College football, but never played the game as an organized sport. I learn much reading his views.
