is it a stretch to say Mett is pretty close to being the same type of QB as phillip rivers? big arm, tall, not super mobile. It's obvious that type of guy can make it. Just gotta learn some fundamentals and he could be Phillip 2.0

Mett has the arm and can make all the throws. He just needs to get the ball out quicker and have better pocket awareness.

Just read an article today about teams giving up on these young QBs too early who show pro potential before being drafted. Nowadays they don't allow these guys to develop like they did 15+ years ago. Zach was one of them that was mentioned. I think he'll find his footing and be a really good QB in 2-3 years.

I'm very glad to hear this, as it often takes a pretty good while for a QB to make it in the NFL....gotta hang on in backup/practice roles long enough to make it happen, though.

One day after being released the guy is claimed by his former coach. That should tell you something. Hopefully he can learn behind Rivers and become a starter somewhere. No reason he can't.
