Multiple sources are reporting that Brian Kelly is trying hard to hire his offensive coordinator from Notre Dame Tommy Rees to be the OC at LSU.

The 29-year old coach from Lake Bluff, Illinois played quarterback for the Fighting Irish from 2010-2013 and began his coaching career as a grad assistant with Northwestern in 2015.

He went on to be an offensive assistant with the San Diego Chargers in 2016 and then returned to Notre Dame to be the quarterback coach on Kelly's staff from 2017-2019.

He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2020. The Irish went 10-2 in his first year as OC, losing to eventual national champion Alabama in the CFP semifinal game.

If we want to truly compete for championships and somewhat consistently get over the Bama hump, we need a guy who's an elite QB coach.

Considering the cupcake schedule ND plays, I'm not so sure the 35.5 ppg will translate to the SEC

Maybe, maybe not. He will have better playmakers, so who knows.

You should probably do your homeowork chief. ND had the 9th toughest schedule in the country this year.
