It's been a busy week for new LSU offensive coordinator Matt Canada as he reportedly turned down three other OC jobs in the Power 5 over the past 48 hours.

On the flipside, Canada's long-term goal is to be head coach at some point as he interviewed for the head coaching job at East Carolina last year and Western Kentucky this year.

Canada is from New Palestine, Indiana and attended Indiana University. Here is his past coaching experience:

1994 Indiana (GA / QB)
1995 Indiana (GA / TE)
1996 Butler (QB / WR)
1997 Butler (OC)
1998–2000 Northern Illinois (RB)
2001–2002 Northern Illinois (QB)
2003 Northern Illinois (OC / QB)
2004 Indiana (QB)
2005–2006 Indiana (QB / PGC)
2007–2010 Indiana (OC / QB)
2011 Northern Illinois (OC / QB)
2012 Wisconsin (OC / QB)
2013–2015 NC State (OC / QB)
2016 Pitt (OC)
2017–present LSU (OC)

Canada will be formally introduced as LSU's new offensive coordinator Wednesday at 1:30 pm CT.

If Bama was in the mix it was to hide him from SEC competitors in their shadow staff.

Your right. He does that a lot. He did that with Steve Sarkisan. He knew Les was going to give him OC and give Cam the axe. So he hired him as an "advisor". Which is an official name for his shadow staff.

You'd think by now LSU fans wouldn't believe "sources". But I guess not.

I'm guessing Bama was one of the power 5 teams that he turned down. I also guess we'll never know. Why are you here? Bama has a post don't they? Go sit on it troll!

If you don't name the teams he turned down, you just as soon say 15 jobs.

The good thing about it? If O flounders, we have Aranda and Canada waiting in the wings to take over. Both guys are HC material. That said, I fully expect O to flourish and LSU to once again compete for SEC titles.

Any coach who is hired as a coordinator aspires to be a HC. No big deal. Always have a replacement on speed dial. The nature of the business.

Do you know Dave Aranda?

Good coaches are going to be in demand from other places

Aranda has made it very clear that he is not currently aspiring to be a HC. Eventually he will, I don't doubt that and no one should. But currently, he's said that he is happy where he is at. He made that clear before CEO was given the intern tag.

That's outstanding if so great way to get a homer in the 9th inning with this hire. It was almost too late imo
