Following Wednesday's news that LSU Greeks would no longer be allowed to tailgate at their fraternity houses or on the Parade Ground, WBRZ is now reporting that Greeks will be allowed to tailgate in other areas of campus.
quote:

On Friday, the university announced fraternities and sororities can tailgate in other areas of campus, just not in front of Greek houses or on the Parade Ground. The school attributed the changes to a lack of security available on gameday for the foreseeable future.

Per the new rules, Greeks may set up tailgates in other spots around campus, but a request must be submitted in advance and approved by Student Affairs and Accountability. University officials and LSUPD will also monitor those tailgates to ensure that certain regulation are being met, including no underage drinking and no common-source alcohol containers like kegs. Certain types of hard alcohol will also be banned.

Furthermore, the university says those tailgates will be subject to the Student Code of Conduct, as well as state and local law. Read more.

Gotta limit the areas designated for partying to make room for "safe spaces"...

It seems like a pretty reasonable conclusion to me actually. The academic institution is understandably trying to control (but will probably fail to control) underage, illegal drinking by members of its student organization. Those members must also abide by school rules and state law.

If LSU banned Greeks, I’d imagine a good chunk of donations would end

I dont know what you guys did but this is ridiculous. I mean weekend home game party. Isn't this one of the reasons you join. I know the others but parties and chics at the house on football weekends is a big part of college.

King Alexander is anti-Greek. The frats on campus better walk the straight and narrow.
