John Brice of Football Scoop is reporting that LSU coach Brian Kelly is set to hire North Carolina State Director of Scouting Corey Phillips to his personnel staff.

Phillips is a former Nashville-area high school coach and served as was the assistant recruiting coordinator at Vanderbilt from May 2016 to Sep. 2021.

He is expected to take on "a high-end personnel position within the Tigers’ program," according to the report.
quote:

Phillips’ impending addition to Kelly’s first staff is seen by industry insiders as another major recruiting move for Kelly, who’s coaching in the South for the first time in his three-decades-long career. In addition to his work at Nashville’s Father Ryan High School as that private-school program’s top assistant coach and director of recruiting, as well as his work at prestigious prep powerhouse Brentwood Academy – running freshman, junior varsity contests and varsity defenses along the way, Phillips had a five-year stint on the recruiting/personnel staff of Derek Mason prior to his work at N.C. State.

Na, Kelly doesn't need ole T-Boy to pass him a water... This guy actually has experience not only coaching, but serving on collegiate staffs as well. As opposed to someone whose experience consists of just being a radio personality and only got a job because they knighted for someone on their local ESPN radio station that they happen to host a show that they used as a platform to convince a bunch of other idiots it was a good idea to help O get a head coaching job and thus, is being rewarded for being a good lil T-boy.
