Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
LSU head coach Les Miles landed at No. 24 on Athlon Sports 2015 coach rankings. Miles was the 8th highest ranked coach from the SEC.

(1) Nick Saban, Alabama
(9) Gus Malzahn, Auburn
(11) Steve Spurrier, South Carolina
(16) Mark Richt, Georgia
(17) Gary Pinkel, Mizzou
(19) Dan Mullen, Mississippi State
(20) Hugh Freeze, Ole Miss
(24) Les Miles, LSU
(25) Butch Jones, Tennessee
(26) Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M
(27) Bret Bielema, Arkansas
(54) Jim McElwain, Florida
(73) Mark Stoops, Kentucky
(107) Derek Mason, Vanderbilt

Here is some of what they had to say about Miles:
quote:

24. Les Miles, LSU
Record at LSU: 103-29 (10 years)
Career Record: 131-50 (14 years)

2015 is shaping up to be one of the most interesting years of Miles’ tenure at LSU. The Tigers have slipped in the SEC pecking order over the last three seasons and last year finished outside of the Associated Press top 25 poll for the first time since 2008. LSU’s 4-4 mark in SEC play in 2014 was the first non-winning record in conference games in six seasons. Additionally, Miles lost top assistant and defensive coordinator John Chavis to rival Texas A&M, and the offense ranked 13th in the SEC in scoring last year. Read more.

Well obviously the list must NOT be based upon W/L record or Championships. Maybe it is based upon who the experts "think" could be the better coach. Otherwise, no way Freeze, Mullen, Jones or Sumlin are ahead of coaches who have at least won a division or conference title at some point in their career. And no way Pinkel (no conference titles) or Richt (no national title appearances) or Malzahn (no national titles) are ahead of Miles (2 SEC champs, 1 Nat'l champ, another Nat'l champ appearance).

I'm a Bammer, but that list was made by a drunk or a masochist. In what world is Hugh Freeze, Dan Mullen, Gary Pinkel and Mark Richt anywhere and I mean anywhere near Les Miles??

In what world is freaking Butch Jones a better coach then Bret Bielema?

Spurrier has been coasting.
Richt does less with more than any other coach in a very weak Division.
Mullen took several years to beat Miles and needed a Heisman candidate to do it.
Pinkel has benefitted from playing in the SECE.
Freeze hasn't don't shite.

Les should be in the Top 3 of the SEC.

Stoops at 8 and Spurrier at 11 are laughable.
