LSU freshman defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin joined the Tigers on the practice field for the first time on Monday.

Shelvin, a five-star prospect from Lafayette, La. (Notre Dame HS) enrolled in classes this week but will redshirt the 2017 season after the NCAA partially denied his eligibility for this season. He is allowed to practice with the team but cannot play in any games.

I just hope he focuses on the classroom and the practice field and not the off field issues that can tempt young players. This guy can be a real difference maker next year!

Wish the NCAA would have granted him full eligibility. LSU could definitely use him to add depth at the nose tackle position.
