Former LSU quarterback Matt Flynn has been released by the New England Patriots according to ESPN.

Flynn, who signed a one-year deal in June to serve as New England's No. 3 quarterback behind Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo, had opened training camp on the active/non-football injury list. A hamstring injury kept him sidelined, according to Russini.
The Patriots will now sign former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Ryan Lindley.

From what I'm gathering Matt Flynn is injured which would basically leave the patriots with only 1Qb for the preseason. They will not play Brady until the regular season and need a non injured person to backup the other guy. That's why they released Flynn and signed Lindley

No fricking way Ryan Lindley is better than Matt Flynn. I am surprised. Buffalo needs another qb.
