Memphis wide receiver coach and New Orleans native David Johnson has turned down the opportunity to join LSU's staff, according to The Commercial Appeal:

"I just think Memphis is the best place for me right now, for me and my family," Johnson said.

Contrary to an SEC Country report that Johnson turned down the job because of "because of the growing rift between the area head coaches and LSU," the New Orleans native said he made the decision because he believes Memphis is the best place for him to grow as a coach.

LSU looking for two new assistant coaches to replace Dameyune Craig and Jabbar Juluke.

As if this dude would turn down a job at a MUCH better school in a MUCH better conference with MUCH better players to work with while getting a MUCH bigger pay raise. If he seriously did this, then he would be extremely extremely dumb. I'm sorry. But either way, LSU likely didn't offer him the job, so this is his way to save face and make himself look good.
