Mathieu, Reid named to PFWA All-Rookie Team

Former LSU Tigers Tyrann Mathieu and Eric Reid were named to the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA) All-Rookie Team.
Eric Reid was the 18th overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Reid has 77 total tackles and 4 INT's with 49ers this season. Reid and the 49ers face the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday, with the winner moving on to the Superbowl.

Mathieu tore both his ACL and LCL in a victory over the St. Louis Rams on December 8th and was placed on the injured reserve December 10th, officially ending his rookie season.
The All-Rookie defense includes Ansah, Carolina’s Star Lotulelei, the New York Jets’ Sheldon Richardson and Carolina’s Kawann Short on the defensive line, Alonso, Oakland’s Sio Moore and St. Louis’ Alec Ogletree at linebacker, Arizona’s Tyrann Mathieu and Atlanta’s Desmond Trufant at cornerback and San Francisco’s Eric Reed and New Orleans’ Kenny Vaccaro at safety.
