LSU Punter Zach Von Rosenberg was named SEC Special Team Player of the week on Monday by the league office. Per SECSports.com:
quote:

SPECIAL TEAMS
Zach Von Rosenberg, P, LSU

-The left-footer had best game of his career, punting five times for a career-best 49.2 average.

-Two of his booming punts resulted in fumbles by Tennessee - one resulting in an LSU field goal and a 3-0 lead in the first quarter and the other led to a TD and a 10-3 advantage in the second quarter.

-His fourth punt of the game carried 60 yards (career long) and pinned the Vols on their own 5-yard line. That punt flipped the field and after a three-and-out by the Vols, LSU scored four plays later for a 17-3 lead.

-For game, three of his five punts were downed inside the 20-yard line and two resulted in fumbles.

Love having a pure athlete as punter. Props to this kid for finding the field as a punter after being a pitcher in minors.

Very well deserved for our millionaire punter! Kept em pinned down all night! And beat out the Tennessee punter, who leads the league and was also very good Saturday night! Way to geaux Zach!

He's been a terrific punter this year. Way way way better than Growden. Proud of him and I know he'll keep it up. Nice find.

Love to see him throw a fake pass. He was a pitcher after all.
