LSU head coach Ed Orgeron does not plan on hiring a new special team coordinator or offensive coordinator before the Tigers Bowl game vs. Louisville on Dec. 31.

Orgeron met with the media and said they that will handle the special team's job "in house" or possibly bring in a consultant to help during preparations for the Citrus Bowl. Per The Advocate:
quote:

"I think we’re going to take our time," Orgeron said. "We’re going to see how everything pans out. There’s some things that we want to get done, people that we’re recruiting. Things are going to fall into place, but as we say, we’re going to take our time, take it one day at a time, see how it goes."

Interim offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger is expected to call plays for the bowl game if the Tigers do not hire a replacement soon. Ensminger will remain on the Tigers staff, Orgeron said, after the program hires a new coordinator.

Regarding Kiffin, he is better off taking the LSU Coordinator job for a year or two and getting in on some high profile jobs than taking a chance at UH and if he craps out there HE IS DONE. DONE.

Exactly how does this help LSU? Why bring a guy in that's gone in a year maybe 2. How do you recruit for the future with a one and done OC?

In today's game, coordinators get HC opportunities all the time. That's what they are working towards. So I'm sure Coach O has plenty of candidates to fill out his staff. Plus, he could almost hire anyone off the streets to call plays and it would be better than the crap Miles gave us for most of his tenure!

You are 100% correct and that would be a hilarious statement except it is sad because it is true.

I would be shocked if Kiffin ends up as UH's head coach.

so when you take all your patient time to hire the best assistant coach, does that mean that the best available hire right now could possibly be swooped up by another university? take my advice which im sure i know nothing, get after that OC hire and not just one or two ppl and get after miles brennan qb and get him on campus. lsu needs a championship. quit fooling around with your head up your arse

It's too late for LSU to get their head out of their collective arses. That ship has sailed. Painful as it is. Given the talent and expectations of the season, this has been nothing more than a complete bust of a season. LSU AD and TAF mishandled this whole thing dating back to last season and learned nothing from it.

Don't think so I would be surprised if Kiffin goes to Houston, Oregon yes Houston no. The guy has coached Tennessee raiders and usc. I will believe that when I see it.
