After sitting out his freshman season at LSU, sophomore linebacker Clifton Garrett is ready to get out on the field to show everyone what he can contribute to the defense.

Speaking with the media on Tuesday, Garrett said that spring practice has been a big learning experience for him and that he is getting a lot more reps compared to last season.

Garrett also mentioned that he has lost weight in the off-season in order to get "bigger, faster, and stronger" for the upcoming season.

I like him on the weak side because he would be a great run stopping OLB there. The Tiger D's weakness last year was mainly with the front seven getting blocked out of their assignments and a stout weak side OLB like him just might be a big step towards them being able to stand up to the better rushing ofenses. As long as he can run with those spread offenses, he should be fine on the weak side. He is, of coarse,k a natural Mike backer but with big Beckwith anchored in that spot, he might be a huge asset on the outside. He might elevate this year's LBs to an elite level if he can keep his quickness like he seems to be trying to do.

Seems like a great kid with a good head on his shoulders. I hope for the best for him.

He's going to be a plahmaking LB, but we have to get him on the field first. Can't wait to see the human missile.
