Multiple sources are reporting that Georgia assistant Tony Ball has accepted the wide receiver coaching position with LSU.

Ball interviewed for the job this week and will replace former LSU wide receiver coach Adam Henry who left the staff this week to join the San Francisco 49ers.

Here is what Ball had to say about the job, according to NOLA.com:

"I've accepted the job," Ball told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune in a phone interview Friday morning. "I'll be reporting Wednesday, the day after Mardi Gras, to Baton Rouge.

"I'm excited. I'm just really excited."

Ball signed a two-year contract with LSU. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Ball is from Chattanooga, Tenn and has been on the Georgia coaching staff since 2006. He spent his first three years as the teams running back coach and was named Georgia receivers coach in 2009.

Prior to his time with Georgia, he served as wide receivers coach at Virginia Tech for eight years.

“Tony is a very talented coach who is a SEC veteran,” Miles said. “He’s going to be a real asset for us in the passing game. He’s going to be able to come in and take our group of receivers and develop them into great players. We are excited about having him join our staff.”

While at Georgia, Ball was part of two SEC Eastern Division Championship teams and he was also part of two of the most prolific offenses in school history in 2012 and 2013. Georgia’s 2012 offense set the school record for total yards (6,547) and touchdowns (72), while the 2013 unit set the school-mark with 484.2 yards per game.

I guess they were really high on Ball, thought they do a couple of more interviews with others, but will trust the staff's decision.
