"Me and Coach O, Coach Aranda and Coach Pete have had extensive talks," LaCouture told reporters on Thursday. "Me and Coach O had great talks talking about next year and his plans about bringing in Matt Canada and knowing what he did at Pittsburgh and putting up 42 points a game. Coach O and Coach Aranda with the great defense last year, what they did you guys say.
"Just the excitement around the room and this whole program about what's going on, I'm excited to be a leader for this football team. I'm going to do anything Coach O asks me to do. Going off what we've talked about, we're very excited and we're very happy. I'm real excited for this opportunity. It's been a long road. But like I said, talking to Coach O and the staff, I think it'll be great for me and this football team. We expect championships around here. We expect that and breathe that every day, day in and day out. I think we have a real shot to get into the College Football Playoff."
