Multiple sources are reporting that LSU defensive end Ali Gaye is having season-ending surgery.

Ed Orgeron said Monday that Gaye would not be available for the Florida game after suffering an injury vs. Kentucky last week but did not elaborate any further.

Rumblings began to surface on Wednesday that Gaye would be out for the season. Those reports were confirmed on Wednesday.

I just have a hard time believing all of our top players are actually getting season ending injuries. Really besides Stingley (who I imagine drops from 3rd pick preseason to maybe 10th, forfeiting millions of dollars) this just hurts their stock. I hope it’s true they’re actually season ending injured but if not, it really just backfired on them.

Probably combined over $10 million dollars lost by not finishing out the season and draft stock hurting. Chase wasn’t effected by it because outrageous numbers. These players now don’t have outrageous numbers besides Stingley 2 years ago.

The loss of so many players due to injury is the only possible way Orgeron gets out of this season without being fired.

Makes me wonder if they're actually injured, or if at this point they don't want to RISK being injured before the draft, in a season that's considered a wash.

Looks like a lot of next men up these days! Hope they're not hurt too bad...

This is such a rough and tumble sport, sometimes individual players must think of themselves and not worry about the team aspect of the game. In fact this group of players with all this talent needs to opt out for the remainder of the season and get all the sprains, bumps, and bruises healed up and make a fresh start next year. Hey, we can just blame it on the China virus...
