LSU DC John Chavis has received a one-year contract extension.

According to The Advocate, LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis has received a one-year contract extension through the 2015 season.

Chavis’ salary of $1.3 million will remain the same for 2015, the letter of agreement notes. The new agreement has been approved by the LSU Board of Supervisors, according to the school. The letter of agreement is dated January 2013.

Chavis is in his sixth year as LSU’s defensive coordinator. LSU’s defense have finished in the top 15 nationally each of the last four years, and this one is currently ranked 15th.
