Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports
LSU center Charles Turners accepted a Senior Bowl Invite on Thursday morning, which likely indicates he is headed to the NFL Draft instead of returning for his final year of eligibility.

The 5th-year senior from Canton, Ohio, was LSU's starting center the past two seasons and appeared in 39 total games for the Tigers. He was a redshirt freshman during the 2019 National Championship season and played three games that year.

If Turner does depart for the NFL, freshman DJ Chester will likely be the next man up for the starting spot.

Backup center Marlon Martinez transferred to Mississippi State this week.

Martinez had an opportunity in the latter half of the season but squandered it by misfiring on his snaps. He had to be replaced by Chester, who finished the game at Center.

Sure would have been nice to know 2 days earlier before we lost Marlon Martinez. DJ Chester, you’re up kid. Martinez could have started at C if he stayed.
