Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
The No. 12 LSU Tigers open up the 2017 season against BYU on Saturday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA. Kickoff is set for the 8:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
Devasting flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey in Houston and surrounding areas forced the 2017 AdvoCare Texas Kickoff between the Tigers and the Cougars to be relocated to New Orleans. Our thoughts and prayers are with those that were affected by the storm.

Saturday’s contest will be the season-opener for LSU, while BYU brings a 1-0 mark into the game following a 20-6 win over Portland State last week. Dating back to last year, BYU has won six straight and nine of its last 10 games. A year ago, BYU went 9-4 and had one point losses to Utah (20-19) and Boise State (28-27) and three point losses to UCLA (17-14) and West Virginia (35-32).
The Tigers enter the game having won six of their last eight a year ago, including a 29-9 victory over Louisville and Heisman Trophy quarterback Lamar Jackson in the Citrus Bowl. LSU has won 54 of its last 55 games in the regular season against non-conference opponents.
