ESPN SEC Reporter Greg Ostendorf selected incoming freshman defensive end Arden Key for his "Help is on the way: SEC West" article. Here is what he had to say about the four-star DE from Lithonia, GA:
quote:

LSU: DE Arden Key
Ed Orgeron, LSU’s new defensive line coach, was brought in to fix a pass-rush that finished 13th in the SEC with just 19 sacks last season. He’s already made progress with some of the current defensive linemen, but he’ll receive a boost this summer when Key arrives on campus. The ESPN 300 star might be a tad under-sized (6-foot-5, 225 pounds), but he more than makes up for it with his quickness and athleticism. He likely won’t start right away, but even as a situational pass-rusher, Key can help the Tigers.

But when you think under-sized without looking at his numbers, most would think height before weight. Considering this kid is 6'5", adding weight should not be an issue for LSU's S&C team. This kid will be a beast and a force to be reckoned with.

I agree with the caterpillar. He will see garbage time, 3rd and long situations, and and obvious passing downs. Just going to be a speed pass rusher for us this year.

He will be very good for us, but I see him seeing very few minutes this year.

"a tad under-sized (6-foot-5, 225 pounds)"

I bet this will not be an issue in the coming months.
