LSU linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. was named a finalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award on Thursday.

The other finalist for the award are North Carolina QB Drake Maye, Penn State LB Abdul Carter, Georgia DB Malaki Starks, and Ole Miss RB Quinshon Judkins.

I hated Shaun Alexander. He was too good. Would loved to have had him at LSU. I mean I hate him.

Would love to see Perkins win this, and he honestly deserves it. BUT, I think Drake Maye walks away with this one.
He is having a great year as a QB, let alone as a Freshman QB. Maye is also a RS Fr. whereas Perkins is a true Fr.

Judkins and Maye have both had break-out years. I don't think either of them have had a better game than Perkins had versus Arkansas.
