LSU redshirt freshman cornerback Greedy Williams received another postseason award on Monday morning when he was named to the Football Writers Association of American Freshman All-America team. Per LSUSports.net:

Williams, a redshirt freshman from Shreveport, led the Southeastern Conference in interceptions with six. He also led the league in passes defended with 17. Williams started every game at cornerback for the Tigers and wrapped up his first season of action at LSU with 38 tackles.

The FWAA Freshman All-America honor is the second national award for Williams as he was also named third team All-America by the Associated Press. Williams was named first team All-SEC by the media and was a second team All-SEC selection by the league’s coaches.

Worth noting he had an interception not count because of a pretty questionable penalty.
