Redshirt freshman Greedy Williams made his LSU debut on on Saturday night, starting at cornerback for the season opener vs. BYU.

Williams replaced junior Kevin Toliver who was one of several players that did not make the trip to New Orleans.

The Shreveport, La. native made the most of his opportunities and came down with a huge interception on a deep pass from Cougars quarterback Tanner Mangum in the second quarter.

Just five plays and 65 yards later, Derrius Guice scored his second touchdown of the game putting the Tigers up 14-0.

Williams spoke with the media on Tuesday and said that he has known since the first day of camp that he would be starting in the opener but kept it a secret.

So where does this put Tolliver on the official depth chart? He was demoted early on?

This might a good story later on if he continues the success of northern Louisiana db's in the footsteps of tre white. Maybe tre mentored him last year while he rs.

Cool - like that there were no leaks. Sign of solid leadership on the team.

That's what I said in one of the million threads of people freaking out acting like these were last minute suspensions. These players knew for awhile what was happening

It's the rant. The same idiots who were asking why we are paying Canada so much, since we only won 27-0.
