The Chicago Bears announced Friday that they have signed former LSU linebacker free agent Kelvin Sheppard.

Sheppard, a native of Stone Mountain, Ga., played at LSU from 2006-2010 and was a backup linebacker during the Tigers 2007 National Championship season. The Buffalo Bills selected him with the 68th pick in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

I will always remember this guy running away from Tebow, as if he really didn't want any part of tackling him.

Great acquisition for the Bears. Kelvin is rock solid and, of course, the Saints whiffed on another one!

Boo! Boo! The "Saints hate LSU players" narrative is played out.

Journeymen make $$$ too! Loved me some K.Shep! They say he wasn't a backup. Maybe technically, but he was basically part of the starting rotation. And a true leader in the locker room.

Met his folks at Auburn in 2010. Really good family. He was a great Tiger player, my best to him!
