Former LSU and current Miami offensive lineman George Brown, Jr. sustained an MCL injury in his right knee during the team scrimmage over the weekend.

Brown Jr. is set to have surgery, according to the school and will miss the season opener vs. LSU on Sunday, September 2nd.

The Cincinnati, Ohio native transferred from LSU to Miami in August of 2016. After sitting out the 2016 season, Brown Jr. played in three games last year in a backup role.

He transferred in 2016? Damn felt like this just happened the other day. Sucks for anyone to have to go through this injury.
