Former four-star quarterback Cord Sandberg, who choose to pursue a baseball career instead of football will be returning to the gridiron and will visit LSU later this month.

The Bradenton, FL native signed with the Mississippi State in 2013 but spent the past six years playing baseball in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system. He was rated the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback coming out of high school in 2013. Per AuburnSports.com:

The former four-star quarterback, who played six seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system, has narrowed his options to Auburn, LSU and N.C. State and will take an official visit to each in July.

“I have enjoyed conversations with the coaches at all of those schools,” Sandberg said. “I can see myself enjoying going to school for 3-4 years in those towns.”

Sandberg has an offer from Auburn and would go on scholarship in January at both N.C. State and LSU. He’ll take an official visit to N.C. State July 25-26, Auburn July 26-28 and LSU July 28-29.

You know what call me crazy but I'm happy with our QB room as it is right now. If we sign another QB we guaranteed to lose 2 of our young studs right now we're looking at losing one QB Justin McMillan if we sign this guy we could lose QB's Lowell Narcisse and Myles Brennan, I don't think it's worth it.

Don't think it will make a difference. It's not like he is a transfer. It's not any different then taking a QB in the 2019 class. Plus he probably would need to red shirt with being out for so long.

I think it'll be Auburn. Auburn has nothing behind Stidham. LSU will have Burrow as a senior and no less than two 4 star QBs.
