The No. 25 LSU Tigers opened up the season with a huge 33-17 win over Miami on Sunday night in Arlington, TX. Per LSUSports.net:
quote:

LSU (1-0), playing with 11 first-time starters, held the Hurricanes to 97 yards in the opening 30 minutes and led 33-3 entering the fourth quarter.

Just before halftime, LSU sophomore linebacker Jacob Phillips returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown that put the Tigers in firm command of the contest. The Tigers, who committed a nation-best eight turnovers in 2017, continued to protect the football - and kept Miami's "Turnover Chain" in its case.

GRADE BURROW # B-

Burrow didn’t play bad for being in the system for two months. A few dropped passes which would of moved the chains. He scrambled well and kept his eyes downfield. I’m more worried about the o-line rn. Miami abused them at times. Great win by a team improving and will be a top 10 team after beating auburn

I'm hearing a lot of crap on Barrow going 11 for 24. I do know one pass was dropped and I'm sure there was more than one. But there was several if not 6 he threw away to avoid a loss. I give the kid a hand for excellent ball handling.

Lsu didn’t dominate anyone. Miami showed up unprepared. They beat themselves.

WUT...? They were just as “prepared “ as LSU... they just got dominated by LSU’s defense.... Most of their stats were during garbage time..

So all of you are telling me you are ok with 11/24 for 140? I know we are all happy with the win, but let's isolate the QB performance. Was there 13 drops?

Really dude? You were that impressed with all those cupcake wins by most of the SEC this week? You really think Bama played anybody worth a shit? Are you really impressed with Auburn barely beating a vastly overrated Washington team? LSU is going to have a really good season and LSU's offense is going to continue improving. If you want to whine go ahead but I saw plenty to be encouraged about.

Just nerves from a big first game of the season. Still a great team win, burrow will get better. Remember it’s his first start and he didn’t look like a deer in the head lights! Yes we must improve on some things but all in all good win!!!

Defense, as advertised! Offense, WR's need to catch the ball. Baton Rouge, we have a kicker! Great start to hopefully, a great season. GEAUX TIGERS!

Very proud of our Tigers! Joe Borrow is candidly likeable and seems to be a very smart QB. Glad to win the game and to see where we can improve. Very excited/cautious about the rest of the season. Can’t wait to watch it unfold.

I loved the outcome but definitely didn't like the way we started slowing down on offense towards the end of the game. We need to teach these guys how to stomp an opponent and crush them at the end. Or else that shite will come back and make us lose games. Geaux Tigers.

A ton of dropped balls by the wrs. Hopefully they will get the kinks out by the auburn game.

Of the 18 drops in the scrimmage, Dillon had 9.

much to work on, but much to build on as well. we wont see the best of Burrow till mid season once he gets more game reps. bright kid and wont beat himself. but the best thing might be a reliable field goal kicker...for a change
