Edward Aschoff with ESPN.com ranked LSU No. 5 in his pre-spring running back position rankings:

1. Arkansas
2. Georgia
3. Alabama
4. Tennessee
5. LSU
6. Auburn
7. Missouri
8. Texas A&M
9. South Carolina
10. Florida
11. Mississippi State
12. Kentucky
13. Vanderbilt
14. Ole Miss
quote:

5. LSU: Leonard Fournette took a little longer to develop than Chubb, but there’s no denying his ability, strength and athleticism. Fournette finished his freshman year with 1,034 yards and 10 touchdowns, but should be even better in 2015. Sophomore Darrel Williams (302 yards) is a fan favorite, but depth is on the unproven side. LSU did sign three running backs this year, including two ESPN 300 members.

Tennessee over LSU makes no sense in depth or experienced depth.

I'd say Fournette, Williams, and Guice are more depth than Hurd and Kamara.

Fournette and Williams are tied for experienced depth with Bama (Henry, Drake), so you could go either way. How do we know Drake comes back with his same explosion and ability though? Many don't aka Knile Davis, Marcus Lattimore, Keith Marshall, Alfred Blue, etc.

I'd put LSU at 3 based on no injuries, two players that played at least a good bit last year, plus the addition of 3 new players in the top 206 recruits, not including Lanard Fournette (I think he will be an RB, but IDK).

Don't be so butthurt. I look at this only out of curiosity. I couldn't give a shlt less about pre-season position rankings that mean nothing in regards to the final team outcome. The only thing that really matters.
