ESPN unveiled their 2017 Preseason Top 25 on Thursday and pegged the LSU Tigers at No. 12.

The Alabama Crimson Tide were ranked No. 1 and a total of five SEC teams landed in the top 25.

Here's what they had to say about LSU:
quote:

12. LSU Tigers: Ed Orgeron has told everyone to geaux away this preseason, perhaps to give a new offense as much of a surprise element as possible. No SEC program has more top-end talent to compete with Alabama, but the Tigers' offense can't simply be Derrius Guice carrying the ball. Matt Canada has reshaped offenses at several programs, and if he can give LSU a schematic edge it lacked, look out in the Bayou.
Here is the complete Top 25:
1. Alabama
2. Florida State
3. Ohio State
4. USC
5. Clemson
6. Penn State
7. Oklahoma
8. Washington
9. Wisconsin
10. Oklahoma State
11. Auburn
12. LSU
13. Michigan
14. Florida
15. Stanford
16. Miami
17. Georgia
18. Louisville
19. Kansas State
20. Texas
21. South Florida

A preseason poll that doesn't include Notre Dame being highly overrated.

Bama vs FSU in week 1 should be a good game. How great would it be for Bama to lose in week 1?!?

It's probably scheduled in case that happens. Then they have the rest of the season to work their way back up the 2-3 spots they will drop and squeak into the playoffs!

Brutal schedule and QB play is going to hamper them. I'll be happy with a top 25 finish.
