Ed Orgeron Talks About How The Team, Staff Have Responded To The Outbreak Over The Weekend

Over the weekend it was reported that at least 30 LSU football players have been quarantined after testing positive for the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, head coach Ed Orgeron was on 104.5 ESPN's "Off the Bench" Tuesday morning and talked about how they have responded to the situation.

"I have to give Scott Woodward a lot of credit," Orgeron said. "He was very well-prepared. Shelly (Mullenix) and Jack (Marucci) were very well-prepared. Obviously stuff is going to happen. I think our team is getting the best care they possibly can."

"This is the new lay of the land and it's something we need to work through. I think our guys are doing a very good job of adjusting and we should be fine."

Orgeron also spoke about the communication with the staff with everything that is going on:

"We are constantly having meetings," Orgeron said. "We had zoom meetings last night with all of our team. We had a leadership council meeting yesterday, we had a freshman meeting, we had a team meeting, Shelly was in there, Mickey (Joseph) was in there. We have a staff meeting today with all the coaches on the staff so we are in constant communication on what's going on.

"Obviously it's always changing but there is information all the time. I let the medical people take care of this and they are doing a great job."

"The thing that we know with this virus is that we all have to be careful when we go out in public or attend events. We have to be careful of who is there and we need to wear our masks. I think that is where most of the problems come from."
