Ralph D. Russo with The Associated Press has LSU playing in the Citrus Bowl against Wisconsin on New Years Day in his latest preseason bowl projections.

Here are a few of Russo's projection:

Ohio State vs. Baylor (Orange Bowl)
Notre Dame vs. Auburn (Cotton Bowl)

Sugar Bowl:
Georgia vs. TCU

Boise State vs. Oregon

Rose Bowl:
Arizona State vs. Michigan State

Citrus Bowl:
Wisconsin vs. LSU

Peach Bowl:
Alabama vs. Clemson

Alamo Bowl:
USC vs. Oklahoma

"Go look at the preseason predictions for 2011, LSU was not "predicted" to do ANYTHING of note" LSU was preseason #4 with 2 first place votes. ESPN, Athlon, Scout, and Rivals all projected LSU to the Sugar Bowl.

Go look at the preseason predictions for 2011, LSU was not "predicted" to do ANYTHING of note, and outside of the MNC game we looked like one the best teams of all time.

TLDR predictions are worth nothing...

This bowl bid would likely guarantee poor fan attendance by LSU for the 3rd straight year, and I imagine that another 8-4 regular season would have to be the beginning of the end for Les Miles.
