Oxford Police Increasing Security Ahead Of Lane Kiffin’s Return With LSU

Oxford officials are preparing for what could be a massive crowd when Lane Kiffin returns to Ole Miss on Saturday as LSU's head coach.

Oxford Police Chief Jeff McCutchen said the department is increasing security ahead of the highly anticipated matchup. Per WTVA:

“I feel like it will probably be one of the biggest crowds that any of us have ever seen, and so you take that into consideration,” McCutchen said.

McCutchen also shot down rumors that the National Guard would be in Oxford for the game.

Instead, Oxford Police is working with law enforcement agencies in Mobile and New Orleans to bring in additional horse-mounted patrols around the city.

Kiffin will return to Oxford for the first time since leaving Ole Miss to become LSU's head coach, adding even more intensity to Saturday's SEC showdown.
