Sitting at No. 8 in the Polls, LSU has now put itself in the College Football Playoff picture.

On Wednesday, Brian Kelly was on the SEC Coaches Teleconference and discussed how they avoid postseason chatter and lock in on this week's matchup at Arkansas.
quote:

"You have to look at it from both perspectives," Kelly explained. "We were not even ranked in some polls when we had beaten South Carolina. We were talked about as a team that didn't deserve to be ranked. If the kids listened to that, then they wouldn't continue to work hard and try to improve."

"The same is true if you listen to people who say you are going to the playoffs. The same thing would happen. You wouldn't put in the extra time and work."

"We really avoid all of the chatter and focus on what's most important. The most important thing is how you prepare each week to put together your best performance. This group has been down this road before. There are a lot of veteran guys. I know we're playing a lot of young guys, but there is enough leadership with this group that leads them in the right direction."

"The most important thing is how we prepare for Arkansas, not what people think of you, whether good or bad."

Kelly better have his boys ready to play, because this upcoming 3-week stretch will be the deciding factor in whether or not we’ll make the CFP

You mean “block out da noise” isn’t the only way to answer that question?

On paper, we should win this game by double digits but it always seems this game is close. It’s up to him and the coaching staff to get this team ready to dominate!
