East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore told reporters Wednesday afternoon that he expects that the charges against LSU quarterback Anthony Jennings, defensive tackle Maquedius Bain, and defensive back Dwayne Thomas could be dropped soon.

Moore also stated that the victim has asked for the case to be dismissed. Per The Advocate:
quote:

Moore, speaking to reporters at the Baton Rouge Rotary Club meeting, said that if Jennings’ case didn’t involve athletes, it would likely have been dismissed already.

“If this was a regular case, take football out of it, if it just involved a regular LSU student, you wouldn’t have known it happened. It would routinely be dismissed,” he said. “I’m taking my time to get it right.”
Jennings, Bain, and Thomas were all arrested back in June for unauthorized entry into a dwelling and have been suspended since.

LSU coach Les Miles talking briefly about how the legal process is playing it's-self during his yearly Baton Rouge Rotary Club speech while Moore was in the room.

When is the Advocate going to give Dellenger the axe? Miles speaks to a community organization, is asked about the legal situation of the players involved in the June incident, and Miles gives insight into the situation, but asks the press not to write about it. Because he would not talk about it like that in a press conference. Showing s level of trust in Dellenger to be professional about a pending legal issue. And Dellenger immediately puts it out to the public. This guy is an unprofessional hack and the Advocate needs to let him move on to go to some other paper that believes he is capable of insightful yet professional coverage of the local garden club happenings. Something he may be able to handle. Because he is not very good at covering LSU football.

As Harris had one start last season and it was horrendous I fully understand why Jennings started. Both QBs were as green as grass and I am certain both will be better this season. Hell Harris himself stated that he had not applied himself and learned the playbook as he should have. From what I saw if Harris I would have to agree with him.
