LSU head coach Lane Kiffin announced several new hires on Monday, including his younger brother Chris Kiffin.

Kiffin spent this past season as a defensive analyst at Ole Miss and joins LSU's staff as Linebackers Coach and Co-Defensive Coordinator.

Before this season at Ole Miss, Kiffin was an assistant defensive coach at three different stops in the NFL:

San Francisco 49ers (2018–2019) - Pass rush specialist coach
Cleveland Browns (2020–2022) - Defensive line coach
Houston Texans (2023) - Linebackers coach

LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker coached the linebackers the past two seasons.

His career has a lot of one and two season stops. To me that’s a red flag ??. Reminds me of Matt Canada’s resume. But at this point I am willing to trust that Kiff knows what he’s doing

Saban had 8 or 9 of the one or two season stops. Most coaches have a ton of them. That’s just the nature of the profession especially if you’re wanting to move up.

Smart. Kiff knows that Baker is likely gone after next season. Get Chris to shadow and learn from the best DC in the game right now before he takes over. Hire from the inside. Profit.
