It will be a huge recruiting weekend on LSU's campus as the coaching staff is set to host several elite prospects starting Friday night.

Three of the prospects are five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr., five-star wide receiver JaMarr Chase, and four-star dual-threat quarterback James Foster. All players are currently uncommitted and major targets for the Tigers.

Surtain Jr., a 6-2, 180-pound prospect from Fort Lauderdale, FL (American Heritage) is the consensus No. 1 cornerback in the country and the No. 1 player from Florida for the class of 2018.

He named LSU, Alabama, Florida State, Clemson, Florida, and Ohio State as his top schools a few months ago. Many believe the Tigers are his leader ahead of the Crimson Tide and the Seminoles.

Chase, a 6-1, 192-pound prospect from Metairie, LA (Rummel) is rated the No. 15 wide receiver in the country and the No. 4 overall player from the State of Louisianna for the class of 2018, according to 247Sports.

He originally committed to Florida back in July of 2017, choosing the Gators over LSU and TCU but de-committed in November and reopened his recruitment. The Tigers are believed to be the team to beat for his commitment.

Foster, a 6-3, 210-pound prospect from Montgomery, AL (Sidney Lanier) is rated the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in the country and the No. 3 overall prospect from the state of Alabama for the class of 2018, according to ESPN. He holds offers from many schools including 11 from the SEC.

LSU gained a commitment from four-star defensive back Kelvin Joesph last Saturday, leaving the Tigers with room for just three more players to complete the 2018 signing class.

Those three spots could likely be filled with Chase, Surtain Jr., and Foster. Also in the mix for those final spots are cornerback Mario Goodrich, safety Joseph Foucha, and wide receiver Lawrence Keys.

Foucha, a three-star prospect from New Orleans, LA (McDonogh 35) will also make his official visit to LSU this weekend.

Are we really going to take an article announcing the most important group of recruits this season and use it instead to bash the coaching staff and the team in general?...really? Damn, I used to bristle up when people insulted Louisiana folks, but I am starting to wonder if there is not a good bit of truth.

I honestly feel as a player. You know where you want to go. Fans rather negative or positive will influence that one way or another.

I'm pretty sure the dumb asses planning to hire E as OC are covering that all by themselves.

so many can not stop the hate... are they so stupid and do not understand that the constant hatred hurts LSU ? or are so many just fans in disguise ?

I think if we were seeing results of improvement from the Miles era, things would be different. Doesn't seem as though much has changed though.
