New LSU quarterback commit Myles Brennan from Bay Saint Louis, MS recently spoke with Will Sammon of the Clarion-Ledger and detailed how he made his decision to commit on Saturday.

LSU emerged as top landing spot for Brennan last week when offensive coordinator Cam Cameron stopped by St. Stanislaus High School to visit with the 6-foot-3 pro-style prospect. Cameron wanted to offer Brennan then but asked if he could visit Baton Rouge this weekend to speak with head coach Les Miles.

Brennan made his way to campus over the weekend with his mother and father and was offered a scholarship by coach Miles. He detailed how he gave his commitment below.
quote:

TCL: So then you have to stay kind of calm for what, another 90 minutes?

MB: Ha, yeah. At that point, I was kind of in shock. I thought, ‘Wow, LSU just offered and that’s pretty big.’ I knew I wanted to commit, but I didn’t know how. So I thought I was going to go home and when I get there I’ll call back here and say I am committed. But as we were about to walk out of his office and after he gives my mom a hug and my dad a hug, I go to shake his hand and say, ‘Coach, before I leave I just want to go ahead and commit.’ He started screaming and tearing up. He said that was the second time he had a player instantaneously commit. My parents didn’t even know I was going to do it. It just happened. It was pretty special, considering it just came from me and in my heart of hearts I know that is the place that I want to be.
Brennan is LSU's lone quarterback commit for the 2017 Recruiting class, which currently has 6 verbal commits.

See this young man every day in school, saw each offer sitting on his desk...and knew he would make the best decision for himself and he sure seems to agree he did. Great character, strong leadership, and great athleticism. Strong player, quick on his feet, and a sharp thinker on the field. He'll be a great asset to the team. Geaux Tigers

After looking at his highlights and seeing his passion for LSU, I truly believe this kid is going to be special. Add the talent that will be around him, and we could be looking at multiple titles during his era.

Kid seems to really love LSU. Once he gets his fourth star, or even if he doesn't, I'd rather have a kid there that feels the way he does about the program compared to one that doesn't have that kind of passion. Great get.
