LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda was in Riverside, CA this week to visit with former Cal and Minnesota quarterback Vic Viramontes, who is now a JUCO outside linebacker at Riverside City College.

Viramontes, a former four-star dual-threat QB from Norco, CA originally committed to Michigan but ended up signing with Cal. He redshirted his freshman year in 2016 and transferred to Riverside CC for the 2017 season following a coaching change at Cal.

After his first season at Riverside, Viramontes transferred to Minnesota as the No. 1 JUCO quarterback in the country. He transferred back to Riverside just one year later and switched positions to linebacker.

The 6-1, 235-pound prospect now holds offers from schools like Ole Miss, Tennessee, Nebraska, Baylor, TCU, and others.

I think the A&M game proves he doesn't walk on water.

I get nervous when photos of Dave Aranda pop-up on the front page. Please God don’t let him leave!

He transferred back to Riverside after being third on the depth chart after spring ball, for anyone else having trouble following this timeline.

That's a lot of moves and transferring but it's also impressive that he's had so many big time offers at multiple positions. He must be one hell of an athlete.

How does one go from no.1 juco QB back to juco again to be an OLB

I watched his LB film on 247Sports. Wow! He's quick, and seems like his QB smarts definitely show on the field. Has a good read on the developing plays and where the ball's going. Please take this as it's intended, but he's got the same measurables as Devin White.

Kid looks fast for his size and with a QB's mind, he should be able to dissect plays a whole lot better than most.

Aranda must see something we don't.

Maybe I'm not that smart but if he's athletic at LB and has QB smarts that's a plus for sure.

That's what most said about me until we played any sport. I couldn't time faster then lots of people but when it came to running past someone or catching a ball over them or running a base, I was faster then most.

or maybe he's trying to find out where he fits in prepositionally? Amazing judgement of a kid after reading 2 sentences. you must dominate the rant

Nope. David Sills went through almost the exact same thing and ended up finding his place at WR for WVU.
