Four-star Oklahoma inside linebacker commit Jacob Phillips spoke to the media after the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday and opened up about his recruitment.

Phillips, a 6-3, 228-pound prospect from Nashville, TN remains committed to Oklahoma but said that LSU is the 'only school I'm still letting talk to me.'

"They really want me bad, that's the only (other) school I'm still letting talk to me," Phillips said.

"They have been after me for a while. When coach Les Miles left, that's when it really picked up. As soon coach Orgeron was the head coach, he was up at my school."
Phillips added that coach Orgeron, defensive back coach Corey Raymond, and assistant AD/Football Player Personnel Austin Thomas are his main recruiters from LSU.

It would be cool if a recruit flipped from another school to us for a change.

This actually happens a lot. People just choose not to remember it.

I'll admit I'm ignorant of kids flipping to us this year. Who did the guys pull in?

You didn't specify "this year" in your original reply. It's been a bit unusual with the coaching change. However, it is possible that we could flip 3 before NSD this class. In past years, several have flipped to LSU from other programs. Arden Key,Bower, Lindsey Scott, Sam Montgomery, Tre Valentine, Sci Martin, Patrick Peteson, Ryan Perrilloux, Chidi Okeke, off the top of my head were all committed elsewhere at some point.

The fact that he is allowing LSU to continue courting him shows that there is mutual interest. Hopefully we can flip him by NSD.

Austin Thomas is the assistant AD? Can we give Alleva a taste of his own medicine, shitcan him now, and promote Thomas?

I'd hope he'll be a TIGER!

All good examples LSU Patrick. Flipping occurs at every university in college football. We just don't pay attention to other schools recruiting. It happens. I don't know if Phillips is serious or just wants the extra attention, but it sure would be nice to sign him. I can't imagine any decent LB'er not wanting to play for Dave Aranda. Especially with a great chance to start immediately!
