LSU Lands Commitment From Elite 4-Star Safety Kelvin Joseph
by TD Staff ReporterJanuary 6, 2018

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Four-star safety Kelvin Joseph from Baton Rouge announced his commitment to LSU on Saturday afternoon from the Army All-American game. He chose the Tigers over Alabama, Auburn, and Florida State.
The commitment of Joseph moves LSU's 2018 class ranking to No. 10 with Rivals and No. 12 with 247 Sports.
Joseph, a one time LSU commit, gave his verbal pledge to former head coach Les Miles in February of 2016 but reopened his recruitment last October.
The 6-1, 185-pound prospect from Scotlandville Magnet High School is rated the No. 3 overall safety in the country, according to 247Sports and Rivals.
Assuming Joseph follows through and signs with the Tigers, head coach Ed Orgeron will have just three spots to fill to complete the 2018 LSU signing class.
Some of LSU's top uncommitted targets include cornerbacks Patrick Surtain Jr. and Mario Goodrich, along with wide receiver JaMarr Chase, quarterback James Foster, tight end Glenn Beal, and others.

#12. Lol. I thought gumbo man could recruit. Scratching the top 10 keeps the program mediocre. The 2 playing Monday night; elite recruiting. Not some top 10 bull shite. This program is a joke and getting even further away from 2000-2004.

We are going to end up with a top 10 class. Not only that, in a down year for Louisiana football talent standards, but coach o has addressed some serious and crucial team needs in this class. Next year louisiana is loaded, and orgeron is going to absolutely kill it in state. We will have a top 3 class next year for sure, I just don't see a scenario where we dont. We comin baws!!!

Outstanding! O is really putting together an excellent class that meets our needs as well. Dave Aranda is salivating right now! His D will be scary good next year. Let’s lock down Surtain and any of the other prospects listed above and this will be a top 5 class in addition to addressing our needs! Welcome, Kelvin!
