The news comes just a few days before Rice was set to enroll early at LSU.

Madison is in north north Alabama. UT, UA, AU all closer to home than UGA. Guess Smart was recruiting him at Bama

Both Gay and Phillips are 4 star recruits, with Gay being ranked no. 7 nationally at his position.

Just read on Dandy Don that LB Wille Gay was excited to hear about Monty Rice decomitting and says he is on his way to LSU. And is recruiting OU linebacker commit Jacob Phillips to join him! This must be who CL8100 was talking about.

And the circus begins!

Dumb move. With Aranda as DC and LSU needs LBs should line up to sign with LSU if they are smart.

Rice was quoted as saying "Kirby Smart assured him he would play immediately." Evidently, Aranda didn't make the same promise. Which again, leads me to believe O and Aranda have LB'ers set to sign on or before NSD. And I'm totally in on White & Divinity.

Bye mutha......but why would a top LB not wanna play at LSU when it's not much competition or depth??? Befuddles me!

Somebody has to say it...What is it with Orgeron and Aranda's inability to recruit linebackers?

I don't know why everyone is all worked up. Devin White and Micheal Divinity are studs. The only thing LSU has a problem is dept. When I saw this guy, I really couldn't picture him getting on the field at LSU. If he was any good, Saban wouldn't have let him leave the state. The only reason he isn't going to Bama is because he wasn't offered a scholarship there. If Bama didn't offer an in state guy, that should tell you everything you need to know about him.

I agree with you about White and Divinity, but Rice is an excellent lb. He doesn't fit into bama's mold of 6'3" and bigger. Tough loss but there's still very good lbs out there.
