SEC Country writer Chuck Kingsbury recently caught up with five-star inside linebacker Ben Davis from Gordo, AL to talk about his upcoming official visits, which includes a trip to Baton Rouge.
quote:

On LSU: “(Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele), he’s actually from Gordo. He was at Alabama and I had a great relationship with him when he was there. He moved to LSU, and him and I just stayed in touch. We just kept talking. I went down there for an unofficial in the spring and I loved it. I’m definitely going to go there for a night game. I’m not sure which one yet. I think the more I go down there, the more I’m going to like it.”

Like Alabama, LSU envisions using Davis as an inside linebacker.
Davis is the No. 1 inside linebacker in the county and the No. 2 overall player from the state of Alabama, according to 247 Sports.

Yeah not sure where he's getting that Steele is from Gordo. He was born in Dillon, SC and attended high school in Dillon. He has a son named Gordon...maybe that's where the confusion is.
