Keion Joyner, the No. 1 linebacker in america for 2016 recently named LSU as his No. 1 school, just ahead of Alabama and Auburn.

The 6-foot-3, 200 pound back from Havelock, NC (Havelock) recently led his team to a state championship compiling 126 tackles and 22 tackles for loss. Some recruiting sites have Joyner rated as the No. 4 overall prospect in America for 2016.

Joyner also has offers from Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida and South Carolina.

Kid does have a lot of potential. Who knows, the Chief loves to call hybrid schemes when certain positions are deep so if this kid gains 40lbs and an inch of height he might find himself in a Mongo type role on third down passing situations. In other words, LSU's staff has a way of getting guys like this on the field and putting them in great spots to make impacts early.

LSU is looking at a couple more NC's over the next 3 to 4 years. All of the pieces are in place now.

This is good news but it's still a long way off. Hopefully he does commit at some point and signs on signing day. We had probably the best class ever for 2014, but we still didn't gain any ground on Alabama and lost a couple of key in-state recruits to them. We won't catch them if we continue to let these top Louisiana recruits get away, especially to them.

geaux TIGERS!!!
