Sensational first-year LSU guard Tremont Waters was named SEC Freshman of the Week for his outstanding play vs. Kentucky and Texas A&M last week. Auburn sophomore guard Mustapha Heron was named SEC Player of the Week.

This is Waters' second Freshman of the Week honor this season. Per SEC Sports:

SEC Freshman of the Week - LSU's Tremont Waters

Waters, a 5-foot-11, 167-pound guard from New Haven, Conn., averaged 19.5 points, eight rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals against 17th-ranked Kentucky and at No. 11 Texas A&M. Waters made two treys from 30-plus feet in the final 12 seconds to beat Texas A&M Saturday in College Station. The first came with LSU down five and 12 seconds left. The game winner came after A&M missed two free throws and an LSU timeout with 3.0 to play. Waters hit a 35-footer over two Aggies with 0.7 on the clock to give LSU the win.

When people talk about the rise of LSU basketball, Will Wade and Tremont Waters will be two names that most will remember. This guy is exciting to watch.
