LSU announced Wednesday that former asisitant Robert Kirby will be rejoining the men's basketball staff as associate head coach.

Kirby was a part of Johnny Jones first staff at LSU during the 2012-13 season and has spent the past three years on the University of Memphis coaching staff. Per LSUSports.net:

“We are thrilled to have Coach Kirby back as a part of our program,” said Coach Johnny Jones. “He was a tremendous asset to our staff (during the 2012-13 season). On the recruiting front, he helped us sign a top-rated class (for 2013-14) and a part of that group would wind up playing a major role on the NCAA Tournament team in 2015 in Jarell Martin and Jordan Mickey.

“He is considered one of the top assistant coaches in the country. He is an outstanding basketball coach and recruiter,” added Jones.

Lets see where this goes because I don't recall us being that much better on X's and O's or free throws back then either. Best of luck and welcome aboard.
