LSU senior guard Daryl Edwards is expected to transfer out the program after this season.

Edwards recently had season-ending surgery and will apply for a medical redshirt and finish out his career at another school as a graduate transfer.

Thanks for your services in raising the bar for LSU Basketball, Daryl, good luck in your next destination as long as it isn't the gumps.

Not bringing Edwards back for next season means Wade has to have that scholarship for an incoming player. I doubt Will made this decision haphazardly. I mean, Edwards has been a very valuable part of the team. So there must be some very talented players Wade has confidence is going to sign with LSU. Also, with the players already on roster I doubt Edwards would get a lot of playing time next season. I hate to see a high character player leave, but this is what happens when a program is getting super talented HS recruits and the team is improving. Thank you for representing LSU well Daryl, good luck in your future and may God Bless you and yours.

Wade doesn't make a decision. Wade couldn't stop him from getting a medical red-shirt. He cannot revoke his scholarship. Its Edwards choice.

As a grad transfer? Then he must have had or will soon graduate, right? Good for him! He should transfer to a school that has a good grad program. If he can play one more year of the game he loves while going to school, more power to him. It's not like he's pro-bound. Get that education! Move on with your life.

He’s scared of guard depth for next year, that gets me excited

More like Wade probably told him it was in his best interest to shut it down, apply for the medical hardship and actually get to continue his playing career somewhere else

I hate to be honest here, but the team has played much better with their current 8 man rotation than when he was getting minutes. So this doesn’t surprise me.

Edwards simply isn’t an SEC guard. He’s limited on defense and can’t create off his dribble. The best part of his game is spot up shooting. I love the kid but Wades recruiting had him as odd man out on this team although Wade tried to force him minutes.

He’s gonna miss out on a great ride if some of these freshman stay around

A great ride indeed...from the bench. I don't blame him for transferring.

He's carrying the ball in the photo. He wants to play. Go and be happy. I had friends do that.
