Former LSU forward Trendon Watford is heading back to Louisiana after agreeing to a one-year, $2.9 million deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

Watford spent last season with the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 6.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 53 games. He also recorded the first triple-double of his NBA career, finishing with 20 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists against the Toronto Raptors.

The Birmingham, Alabama, native played two seasons at LSU from 2019-21 before entering the NBA Draft. He went undrafted in 2021 but has since played for the Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets and 76ers.

I always liked his game. When he was on, he could fill up the stat sheet against anyone.
